Allied to our sister business (Wittering SUP Paddleboarding School), Wittering Wellbeing is run by us; husband and wife, James & Alex Wittering.

Over the last 4 years of running a SUP school we have seen, first hand, the resourcing effects of doing a mindful activity, close to nature. Wittering Wellbeing allows us to infuse the eco-therapeutic qualities of our outdoor activities with our expertise in mindfulness-based practices.

We lean towards an evidence-based, scientific approach to supporting mental health based on the latest neurological and psychological science combined with a healthy respect for the natural world, ancient wisdom and philosophy. All our work is non-secular but is exceptionally accessible and can be integrated into any belief system. 

James is a Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher via the Oxford Mindfulness Foundation and a SUP technical coach. 

Alex is a Yoga (and SUP yoga) teacher, a SUP instructor and an open-water swimming coach.

A Taste of Mindfulness Workshop

A short, accessible, workplace friendly but comprehensive introduction to the core foundations of mindfulness practice (a 1.5hr session available online or in person)

Introducing Mindfulness
3 week course x 1hr sessions

With 3 core themes over 3 weekly sessions, this introductory course is designed to provide a basic overview of the core foundations of mindfulness including lots of theory, lots of practice and little bit of homework.

Mindfulness For Life (MBCT-L)
8 week course x 2hr sessions

A deep dive into mindfulness blended with practical CBT exercises to empower participants with a full toolkit of evidence-based strategies with which to face the challenges of everyday life and improve your general wellbeing.

Mindfulness Day Retreat

Based at our beautiful Sailing Club HQ on the stunning River Avon in Defford, nr Pershore, we spend a day together exploring mindfulness, paddleboarding, wild swimming and SUP yoga, fully catered by our friends at the farm shop next door.
